Benefits to centralised Lubrication

Centralised Lubrication improves equipment life by offering continuous lubrication in small quantities always keeping machinery at optimal grease levels throughout its operation and without any down time. The centralised lubrication system pumps grease as the machine is operating thus reducing downtime for lubricating the machine and more importantly downtime due to breakdown. In most instances the cost of the centralised lubrication system can be recovered by saving one breakdown the costs of unproductive machinery, physical repairs and replacement parts making centralised lubrication of key importance.

Manual lubrication wastes time, breaks equipment and machinery and is operator dependant. If manual lubrication were to take 15 min per day over a 6 day work week at an operator wage of $20.00 there is $ 7 800.00 losses in the first 5 years. Unfortunately the cost is much higher as this has no accounting for loss of productivity over that 5 year period of 78 hours (ten days production) or machine down time or machine failure due to under lubricated pins or bearings costs because the operator “forgot” or “missed a point” is extremely costly to operations.
